Holiday at the Harbor

So I had never before truly appreciated the way that Facebook really can bring people together. I was on sometime before Christmas and discovered through a friend's status that she was in D.C. visiting family for the holidays. These are old friends of ours who we knew when we lived in Texas. It's been 7 years since we saw them, but we were able to get together today!

We visited The National Harbor for lunch. At the "beach" there was this gigantic statue of a man half-buried in the sand. So, many photos ensued:

This last picture is us with our friend Leslie. We used to do all kinds of homeschooling stuff together, and it was so much fun getting to catch up on old times.
